Small and power-efficient

The INTEL RealSense™ LiDAR Camera L515 is the smallest and most power-efficient LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) camera, capable of processing 23 million pixels of depth information per second. The L515 is a lightweight with only 100 grams and is therefore well suited for mobile applications such as portable 3D scanners for measuring packages or objects. At a rate of 30 frames per second and with a resolution of 1024x768 pixels, the field of view (FOV) is 70°x55° (±2°). The LiDAR L515 camera achieves a new dimension of spatial depth with controlled interior lighting, with a Z-error of less than 20mm at maximum range.

Ideal for Fast Moving Objects

It is also suitable for capturing fast-moving objects because the short pixel exposure time of less than 100ns minimizes motion blur artifacts. By compensating measures such as the camera health check by sending a few RGB frames, millimeter accuracy is maintained throughout the life of the depth camera even without calibration.

The Camara's Size

With a diameter of 61mm and a height of 26mm, the camera fits in one hand and can therefore be used in logistics applications for precise volume measurement. Many other applications can be found in industry and robotics as well as in 3D (body) scanning, healthcare and retail. The camera is also interesting for end users in the maker scene or for 3D enthusiasts or for athletes who want to study their movements exactly.

The depth camera has an onboard vision processor, an acceleration sensor, a gyroscope and a full HD RGB sensor with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels.

The latest member of the INTEL Realsense family is also supported by the existing SDK 2.0, allowing a seamless transition from existing Realsense 3D projects to the LiDAR technology.
