Current Sensor

Today, current sensors are used in many devices to measure the electricity flowing through at any given time. These actually measure the magnetic field created by the current flow using Hall sensors.
CODICO's product range features sensors for current measurement in the range between 0 to +/- 170A. Most of our sensors are available in a very compact design. Current sensors are used in engine control, inverters, power factor correction (PFC), and in several security applications.
The hall-effect based current sensors from MPS offer an easy, isolated, bidirectional AC or DC current sensing. The isolation voltage of 2400VRMS protects the electronics from the input. ICs are available in SOIC-8 package and can detect currents from +/-5V to +/-50V. They need only a single supply of either 3,3V or 5V.

Today, current sensors are used in many devices to measure the electricity flowing through at any given time. These actually measure the magnetic field created by the current flow using Hall sensors. The modules often also contain an iron core to focus the magnetic field.
As already mentioned, the measurement is carried out by a preferably linear Hall IC. There are, however, different design types that can also measure different amperages with different accuracy.
AKM offers a wide range of current sensors. Further information can be found here.
